PDP Thursday 5th October 2006.
So we have to keep a blog for PDP. To be honest, I'm not sure how helpful or beneficial this will be. I'm sure I'll just end up using it as a procrastination method like I do with my other blog and the internet in general.
Ok, so I'm giving it a go, even though I tried to start a revolution in the 2nd year PDP introductory lecture. My fellow students can be so apathetic sometimes. They just wanted to leave as early as possible. What must have been disheartening was when Marian Meyer asked those who thought that they didn't benefit from PDP and thought it was a waste of time, about 70% of the lecture theatre put their hands up.
PDP just seems to make official, yet again, a life skill that would naturally be picked up. Employers should be able to tell from everything else we do that we are good employers, work well in a group, whether we're analytical etc. We all reflect naturally and putting this in an essay format seems to restrict ones thoughts too much.
Anyway, rant over, here we go.
I've thrown myself into the second year, I'm ready for it all. I got the music scholarship so that means I will have more commitments there with singing and saxaphone lessons. Also a number of lunchtime and evening concerts. On top of this I have become a PAL leader which I think I'm going to enjoy. We've got a blooming full workload this year which is brilliant for me I think. I find the more work I have to do, the more I do. If I have enough time to sit around watching countdown, deal or no deal and so on, then I just keep doing that and put off the work. And then put it off again. But I'm all set for the course this year.
My daily routine has been helped by going back home. Being woken up at a reasonable hour every morning by my boyfriend has meant that I am not so much the nocturnal creature I was before. Also I have had some confidence boosts from people within the comedy business spurring me on, so I think that has helped me with my creative side generally.
I think that will do for the first one.
Adieu.
